The true challenge designing the interiors for the common areas of a residential building in a highly prestigious area of Medellin, was essentially to create a space with personality, making it a pleasant place to linger even though it’s a transient area. We needed to balance neutrality with the expressiveness that excites us in the spaces we design. Therefore, we decided to design each piece of furniture from delicate wood or metal. Although these pieces are understood as neutral objects accommodating the diversity of different users, they are special in themselves due to their lines, carefully selected materials, and, above all, the artisan hands that lovingly crafted each element that ultimately makes up this Common Living Room.
